A Midsummer Night's Dream  at St. Francis Theatre

This beloved Shakespearian comedy is a delightful journey into a dazzling world of love, magic and merriment. The play depicts the events surrounding the marriage of the Duke of Athens, the madcap romantic escapades of four young lovers and the bumbling attempts of troupe of inept amateur actors to achieve recognition.  These characters are helped or hindered (or both) by a group of delightfully mischievous fairies from the forest. Considered one of Shakespeare's most inventive plays, the production is all the more intriguing for the updated staging by accomplished director Mike Wilkinson.  This highly entertaining production features local actors Mark Klugheit, Bree Boyd, Bob Evans, Nadia Fike, Robin Carson, Sara Jackson, Andrew Gray, Voyze Harris, Meagan Jones, Alex Greengaard, Sara Rohde, Katie Burke, Colleen Magee-Uhlik, Michaela Ivey, Kindle Vickers, Dave Sewell, and many, terrific talents.  A Midsummer Night's Dream is a brilliantly composed drama that thoroughly amuses while prodding us to examine the nature of love and the significance of our dreams.

A Midsummer Night's Dream will be performed Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 3:00 pm on September 12th, 13th, 14th, 19th, 20th and 21st.  St. Francis Theatre is located at 4625 E. River Rd in Tucson (NW corner of River Rd. and Swan Rd). Admission is $12 to $20.
