Ballet Tucson's beloved full-length production of "The Nutcracker" has been filling audiences with the joy and wonder of the holiday season since 1994.

This award - winning classic Victorian rendition is a visual feast with spectacular scenery, choreography and costumes.  Experience Clara's magical journey complete with giant-sized mice, swirling snowflakes and exotic sweets and spices. Ballet Tucson's gifted and compelling professional dancers bring Tchaikovsky's vivid score to life. Talented up and coming younger performers add a delicious charm to this timeless tale.

Sugar Plum Tea

There are few things more rewarding than experiencing the joy of tradition during the holiday season. We will celebrate again this year with a very special occasion, which we hope will become one of your family's traditions.

On Sunday, December 6, Ballet Tucson will host its 15th Annual Sugar Plum Tea. Confections of every kind will transform the ballroom at the Marriott University Park into a magical setting for this hallmark holiday event. Join Ballet Tucson artists along with the Sugar Plum Fairy, Clara, and other characters from The Nutcracker ballet in celebrating the holidays with sights and sounds of the season and delights for the whole family.

 

Live musical entertainment and other festivities include Tenor Grayson Hirst, The Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus, and Harpist Christine Vivona. Other festivities offered are a holiday marketplace of Nutcracker collectibles, an exceptional silent auction of gifts and treasures, a narration of The Nutcracker story with characters from the ballet, and a live performance by Ballet Tucson's talented professional dancers.
