Hands-on Workshop

Ever wonder what they meant when they said –

"Bring me a Joker"
"I need a quarter apple box"
"Set up an Inky"

High rollers? C-47's? Dots? Fingers? Scrims? Gobo? Mafers? Practicals? High boys? Low Boys? High Key? Low Key? Rembrandt?
Short? Rim? Butterfly?

Our next IFA meeting will cover these and many more, as we talk about grip and lighting.

Learn what to use and how to use it to get that cinematic look that's so important to "good production value" for your film. This workshop will be conducted by Robert Loomis, a digital film and video instructor at the Art Institute of Tucson.

 

 

Workshop Host

 

Robert Loomis
 
Robert was born in Nürnberg Germany on January 31, 1966. After that he moved every couple of years or so until he was captured by the vortex that surrounds Tucson Arizona.
 
He studied Art, Art History and Media Arts at the University of Arizona where he later taught film production and film financing courses. He has been involved with independent filmmaking for over twenty-five years and in addition to many shorts, videos and commercials, he has produced four, and directed three feature length films, Dog Years, Angry Young Man, and Dropkick
 
Robert is currently a lead instructor in digital film and video at the Art Institute of Tucson.
