Subject: Assistant needed for children's theatre camp
Troubadour Theatre is looking for an assistant director for our First Spotlight camp starting Monday June 4. This is an acting camp for ages 7-12, located on Grant near Stone. Students will learn acting skills, and rehearse a play to be performed on the last day of camp. Camp runs Mon-Fri June 4-15 12:30-4:30pm each day, with possible late pickup until 5:30pm each day.
Assistant position pays set stipend of $350, plus extra for supervising after care. Must be at least 18 years old and have experience teaching or supervising groups of children. Theatre experience and knowledge in directing, theatre games, and theatre tech is a plus, but not required. Responsibilities include helping the camp director with controlling and maintaining order with the kids, leading some improv/theatre games, assisting in directing the play, and helping backstage with the performance.
Most importantly, the assistant must have experience with teaching/supervising children in general, experience in theatre isn't as important (theatre related responsibilities will be pretty basic and easy to learn if not experienced). Must have fingerprint clearance card or pass background check. Camp is coming up really quick, so if you know anyone who might be interested, please share this with them.
