Arts for All to Hold Auditions for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Arts for All will hold auditions for their spring Community-Wide Production,
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Thursday, February 2 through Friday,
February 10. Auditions will be held by appointment from 4:00-6:00 pm each
day at Arts for All, 2520 N. Oracle Road. The play by David Richard George
is adapted from Roald Dahl, the international children's author of James and
the Giant Peach, Matilda, The Witches, as well as Charlie and the Great
Glass Elevator. It's the great story of Charlie Bucket and his exciting
adventure in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. The characters in the play
include Charlie Bucket, Veruca Salt, Augustus Gloop, Mike Teavee, Violet
Beauregarde, Grandpa Joe, and of course the eccentric and brilliant Willy
Wonka.
Arts for All is seeking actors of all ages, with and without experience, to
join us is this intergenerational production. They are also looking for
actors well versed in American Sign Language. Actors with and without
disabilities are encouraged to audition. Actors should prepare a one-minute
memorized monologue in their best diction. It can be prose or poetry,
preferably not original work. Signers should prepare a one-minute monologue,
song or poem.
Rehearsals will be held selected evenings and weekend afternoons from
February 15 through April 20. Performances run is April 21-23 and April
28-30 at Arts for All's Little Theater. There will also be a special student
matinee 10:00 am on April 28, location pending.
