Subject: [Tucson Actors] Tucson Film Contest
Submission Deadline: February 10, 2006
The University of Arizona LUNAFEST is a national film festival that
showcases short films by women, for women, or about women. On March 1,
2006 LUNAFEST will present eight films selected from a nationwide
competition in the Gallagher Theater on the UA campus. Your film could
be shown along with them!
The UA LUNAFEST invites amateur filmmakers and film students in the
Tucson community to submit films. The deadline for submission is
February 10, 2006. All proceeds from UA LUNAFEST will benefit the
Women's Studies Advisory Council (WOSAC) and The Breast Cancer Fund.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
* Films accepted can be shorts, documentaries, fiction or narratives
* Films should not exceed 15 minutes
* Each entry must be submitted on a separate DVD
* Foreign language films must be submitted in the original
language with English Subtitles
* Each entry must include:
+ DVD with name, address, telephone number, email
address, film title, and duration of film
+ Film entry form:

+ $10 application fee by check payable to: UA

* Entries will not be returned
* Filmmakers must be available on Wednesday, March 1 at 7 p.m. to
participate in UA LUNAFEST
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION
All films must be received by noon on Friday February 10, 2006.
Submissions may be delivered to: WOSAC c/o Heather Metcalf in the
Women's Studies Department in the SBS Annex (1443 E 1st St) or may be
mailed to: WOSAC c/o Heather Metcalf, University of Arizona, 1443 E
1st Street, PO Box 210403, Tucson, AZ 85721 (new address as of
February 1). Mailed submissions must be received by February 10, 2006.
THE WINNING FILM
* The winning filmmaker will be notified by February 20, 2006
* The winning film will be shown in conjunction with the LUNAFEST
on March 1, 2006
* The winning filmmaker will be provided with two complementary
tickets for admission to LUNAFEST
JUDGING
Each entry will be viewed by the UA LUNAFEST Screening Committee
comprised of students and faculty in the Women's Studies and Media
Arts departments in addition to community film professionals and WOSAC
Board Members. The films will be rated for interest, creativity,
content and how the film fits the "By...For...About Women" theme. The
films integrity and the dialogue generated among its viewers will also
be rated.
