Tucson: Job Opportunities with Beowulf Alley Theatre Company

Beowulf Alley Theatre Company is seeking additional personnel for our Daring and Distinctive theatre in Downtown Tucson. Recent awards for Beowulf Alley’s productions include: Recipient of the Arizona Daily Star’s 2006 Mac Awards for Best Comedy (Anton Checkov’s Four Farces. Additionally, we were recognized under the Mac Awards categories of Best Actress for Lesley Abrams (Beowulf Alley’s production of Frozen) and Alida Gunn (nominated for “Abby” in our production of Fiction); Best Drama (both Frozen  and Fiction nominated); and Best Director (Beowulf’s Artistic Director, Stephen Elton for Frozen). The Tucson Weekly also recognized us for Best Performance by a Thespian in 2006 when they selected Roberto Guajardo for his performance in Beowulf Alley’s production of Underneath the Lintel. POSITIONS WE ARE SEEKING:

Fundraising, Development and Special Activities

The Fundraising and Development Coordinator must have a proven, successful history to coordinate Fundraising, Development and Special Activities. This person will assist with all aspects of fund raising including planning corporate, foundation and individual fund raising; stewardship; donor research; grant research; underwriting of productions; special events and activities; and coordination of volunteers for related activities. The person representing Beowulf Alley Theatre Company must be positive and professional. This position is a year-round, part-time, contracted position. A minimum of 5 years experience in fund raising is required. This position reports to the Administrative Director.

Advertising Sales and Marketing

We are seeking enthusiastic, energetic people as Advertising Sales and Marketing Associates to sell advertising for our production programs; seek sponsors for productions and events; and promote our theatre to various businesses and trades. These positions are year-round and part-time. Payment is on a commissioned basis. These positions report to the Administrative Director.

Reservations and Box Office Staff

We are seeking individuals with a pleasant, positive attitude to assist our patrons in purchasing tickets by phone or in person. This is an hourly, part-time position with some evenings and weekends required. Must have legible handwriting, a pleasant disposition and the ability to be trained on simple reservations software. These positions report to the Administrative Director.

Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to assist on both regular and special activities such as mailings; special events; and various office tasks. The participation levels range from participation on an as-needed basis to a day or two a week for a few hours per day. Evenings are also acceptable for some tasks. Skills and talents can range from answering phones, copying and stapling documents, sorting and filing papers to word processing documents and processing reservations via our box office software and other tasks as needed. These positions report to the Administrative Director.
