Comedy Improv  (4 weeks)
Wednesdays, 6:30pm-8:30pm
Call 881-2363 today to register for the next class!

Comedy improv isn't hard when you learn it from a former Saturday Night Live cast member.  You'll learn all the keys: formats, dialects, and structure.  Come play, have a ball, and enjoy discovering how funny you can be.  Also, for acting students, studying comedy improv loosens up the body, helps you think fast on your feet, introduces dialects, and sharpens your timing.

About the coach - Anna Risley was in the cast of Saturday Night Live for one year, in two Broadway shows, has done 2 CBS pilots for new situation comedies, 35 plays, twelve speaking roles in feature films in NYC and L.A., and 30 years of voice over work nationally.

Call 881-2363 for more information, or check out the website for additional courses.

This four week class is for actors who want to do film, and it's also great for people who want to do stage work and/or TV commercials - and it's only offered once a year.

Four Friday nights (6:30p to 8:30 or 9), Jan. 11 to Feb. 1st.
You can pay the $50 per class by the week, rather than $200 upfront.

The reason this class is so valuable is the great feedback you'll receive, and at the end of the four weeks you'll receive a DVD of just your work so you can mark your progress.

Week one - auditioning on camera
You'll get a script, break it down, and audition with it on camera.  Then, we'll have a very detailed discussion regarding what you did well and where and how you could improve.  Then, you'll get new sides or a scene/copy to learn for the next Friday.

Week two - You'll look over your script then perform it on camera.  Further discussion and you can choose what you'd like to work on for the next week.

Week three - Perform your selection on camera, we'll have a discussion and then you'll have your choice for week four:
1) audition on camera
2) take a new script/sides and perform on camera
3) a mock interview on camera where you'll be asked lots of questions
4) you can tell two 2-minute stories on camera

This course is coached by Anna Risley - you can check out her resume at www.the-studio-for-actors.com.
