Where literary intrigue meets raunchy performance, a showcase of some fabulously creative talent. Get keen to the debauched decadent lifestyle of Gatsby and throw and little 20s in your dress.
Book Club Burlesques are installation and performance collaborations inspired by works of literature; a vaudeville-style variety show with burlesque, circus, comedy, specialty acts, and more. The purpose is to create interactive entertainment, bring back the variety show format and expose neo-variety performance artists. Additionally, this show is building collaborations and community in Tucson’s downtown arts and performance scene.
This show will be the seventh in our Book Club Burlesque Variety Show Series which has been running in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The past books have been Lolita, Valley of the Dolls, The Scarlet Letter, Archie Comics, Grimm's Fairy Tales and Less than Zero
