Forty high-school students have the opportunity to learn from theatre professionals and perform on Arizona Theatre Company’s stage with Summer on Stage 2008.
Sponsored by Arizona Theatre Company, the state's leading professional theatre company, and the nationally recognized University of Arizona School of Theatre Arts, Summer on Stage is an intensive five-week theatre program where participants learn a variety of acting techniques including character development, voice for the actor, scene and monologue study, movement and dance. Students are educated through classroom work, and an intensive rehearsal process leads to two fully mounted productions performed at the Temple of Music and Art, the home of Arizona Theatre Company.
This summer’s productions include Seussical written by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens based on the works of Dr. Seuss, directed by Sara Bernstein, choreographed by Elizabeth Oates, with musical direction by Mark Allan Rethman; and William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night directed by Cale Epps.
