This beloved Capra Christmas film comes to captivating life on stage as a live l940s “radio show” featuring a small acting ensemble breathing life to a few dozen characters, dancing Lux Toilet Soap, and a Foley sound effects artist.  The pre-show musical extravaganza features Christmas vocal favorites from the 40s.  This heart-warming classic will have audiences cheering and tearing for the George Baileys everywhere as we are all reminded that “no man is a failure who has friends.”

Blessed Assurance by Laddy Sartin

Thu, March 26 Preview, Fri, March 27 – Sun, March 29 & Fri, April 2 – Sun, April 4, 2009

Atria’s Bell Garden Academy Hall Theatre -  6653 East Corondelet Drive

It is the turbulent Freedom Summer of l964.  Olivia, the cook for the Whitehouse cafĂ©, has shocked her small, southern town by marching up the courthouse steps demanding to register to vote.  Sartin’s storytelling masterpiece shows Olivia, and the people close to her, how her choice to stand up for her rights forces them all to confront the hatred, ignorance, and injustice in the town.  A beautiful story of values, the politics of the Old South, friendship, and ultimately faith.

In addition to main stage productions, Waypoint will be producing and touring the comedy/drama John: His Story by Jeannette Clift George to churches throughout southern Arizona in the Spring, 2009.
