SPEAK SOFTLY AND CARRY A BIG SCHTICK

1/2 hour Public Access TV Show.

I produce a satirical 1/2-hour "talk" show in which I interview famous characters in the history of Western Civilization. To date, shows have been produced, and have aired, featuring Adam (from the Garden), Noah (with the Ark), Moses, Columbus, George Washington, Eve, Alexander Graham Bell and Jesus.  All of the shows, with the exception of Jesus were produced back East and I'm now working through Access Tucson, where Jesus was produced (guess it was easier to get him to Tucson!) and where I'm about to shoot my interview with Leonardo Da Vinci!

I'm now looking for my Show #9 guest, Teddy Roosevelt. As with my previous shows, while this is scripted, there's a teleprompter so the talent doesn't have to be totally "off-book". Nor does the talent need to be similar in appearance to Teddy, though it would be nice. After all, this is satire and the concept of me chatting with Teddy in 2012 is...well...

Anyhow, looking for someone willing to take the risk and play this character. What risk you ask? Well, to begin with, there's a lot of detail as Teddy recounts his accomplishments – which were numerous both domestically and foreign policy-wise.  Secondly…and importantly…Teddy was, and is, a progressive Republican, a "creature" that doesn't seem to exist anymore, especially in Arizona – a reality that he mentions time and again in the show so it's important that the actor's politics not get in the way of his performance.

So, looking for male actors who can play the role of Teddy Roosevelt as I wrote him as well as play with the role – not an easy task given the detail.  No age requirements. Just need to emote and bring the role to life.  SAG actors can be considered as I have secured waivers in the past. This is non-pay. You will be credited in the video, which will air on a number of community access stations across the country as well as be posted to youtube.com and perhaps other video-viewing sites. Plus, a DVD of the show will be provided. And...I'll feed you! Would love to shoot this in early/mid June! Schedule is open and dependent on 1) Talent's schedule 2) Studio availability at Access Tucson – for on-camera rehearsal and then for the actual recording.

If interested, please send an email expressing your interest and any other information you feel might be relevant.  If you have a headshot and/or resume, send them! Also, if you have questions…ask away! Will respond by email and what the next steps would be – recognizing that it's dependent in some regard to the number of those interested. Please send email to docmca@aol.com and put "Teddy" in the subject line. Thanks!
