Tucson, Arizona--Pima Community College Musical Theatre Workshop performs Friends & Lovers, under the direction of Nancy Davis Booth. The audience is invited to come and get an inside glimpse of putting it together and experience the fun, difficulty and delicious discontent of the rehearsal process while celebrating the surprise, challenge and success of student performance. Program selections include scenes from Oklahoma, Damn Yankees, The Fantasticks, Company, A Chorus Line and Fiddler on the Roof.

Musical theatre is the most collaborative of arts. The Musical Theatre Workshop offers students the opportunity to explore the integration of singing, acting and movement through the study of musical theatre scenes. In addition, part of the semester is devoted to solo audition techniques with mock auditions before professionals and audition preparation for PCC Performing Arts 2013 spring musical ALL SHOOK UP.

Nancy Davis Booth, soprano, enjoys a career that includes orchestra engagements, oratorio, opera, musical theatre and cabaret. She also directs and produces. Booth earned her Equity card in “A Little Night Music” and her SAG card on the Hubba-Bubba Bubble Gum commercial. In addition to her active performance career, Booth has served as an assistant professor of music at Butler University in Indianapolis, as well as on the faculties of Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and The University of Arizona in Tucson. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice, a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre, a Master of Science in Child Development and is published in The Journal of Social Psychology.

Pima Community College Center for the Arts is located on the West Campus just west of downtown and I-10 on St. Mary’s Rd, which turns into Anklam Rd. Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday, noon to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to performance.

Please continue to run in print and online through December 5, 2012.
