MONDAY NIGHT JAZZ JAMS DOWNTOWN

by Chuck Graham, TucsonStage.com

Tony Frank and 'The Jazz Guild of Tucson' brings you a 'REAL Jazz' jam every Monday from 8 to 11p.m. at Elliott's on Congress, 135 E. Congress St. Drink and food specials with happy hour prices all night long!

The most swingin' and best players in town will be appearing as guest artists (vocalists, instrumentalists) every week with a full 2 hours+ open for professional jazz players and accomplished students of the craft
A burnin' house rhythm section led by our favorite son SLY SLIPETSKY will include great bassists and drummers being rotated in each week. Always jumpin, always legit, always REAL jazz. Poets are welcome to share their talents as well.

This is a sweet little spot in the heart of downtown on Congress & 6th ave. (across from the Chicago Store). This joint is affordable, hip and has character for days. It has a small, old school, East Coast vibe, which is perfect for the swingin' scene your Jazz Guild will create.

Be there and help start a great tradition in jazz for our scene and our city... in the right spot at the right time! Come down, sit in, dig, eat, drink, swing, jump, be super happy...jazz is alive on Congress. Get on board, baby!!

Musicians wishing to have a guest spot or play in the rhythm section, please contact me directly. I will be doing ALL bookings for this jam.
I like themes, i.e., Music of Miles, Cole Porter Classics, Celebrating the Trane!, Trombone Madness, Great tunes of Billy Strayhorn, ect...hit me with your ideas for a guest spot and let's swing. Plus you can bring your recordings to sell at our merchandise table.

For more info and bookings call me at 520-370-9939 and join our 'Jazz Guild of Tucson' page today! Keep swingin', TF
