The Loft Film Festival screens some serious films on Monday, with some comedy and a couple of French flicks mixed in, then opens way up on Tuesday with the only concert film ever recorded of The Doors.
The complete, digitally re-mastered version of this 1987 film takes us back to 1968 at the Hollywood Bowl, when the legendary Jim Morrison brought in 50 amplifiers for the event -- just in case he needed more volume.
The band’s keyboards guy Ray Manzarek directs and ruminates on the times with band buddies Robby Krieger, guitar, and John Densmore, drums. But it is the concert that is the show.
Also playing at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday is “Fat Kid Rules the World,” winner of the 2012 SXSW Audience Award.
The Loft Film Festival runs through Nov. 15. For complete details and ticket prices, www.loftfilmfest.com
