WINDING ROAD THEATER ENSEMBLE PROUDLY PRESENTS
A NEW PLAY FESTIVAL
SATURDAY, MAY 3, 2014
CABARET THEATRE at the TEMPLE OF MUSIC AND ART
Tucson, Arizona – Winding Road Theatre Ensemble will present a day-long New Play Festival on Saturday, May 3 at the Cabaret Theatre (Upstairs) at the Temple of Music and Art, 330 S. Scott, Tucson.
In support of Winding Road's mission to produce new American plays, the Festival includes staged readings of four unpublished new plays, never before performed in Arizona. Each performance will be followed by a discussion with the audiences and complementary refreshments.
Schedule:
1:30 PM – I And You by Lauren Gunderson - the story of two intelligent teenagers whose journey of self-discovery unfolds beside a similar journey taken by one of America's finest poets 150 years ago. Performed by Lucille Petty and Nick Trice, directed by Glen Coffman.
4 PM – My Life in Sports, written and performed by Tucson theater artist William Epstein – a play about a boy, baseball, friendship among men, and finding the great love of your life. Directed by Glen Coffman.
7 PM – The Great Divide by Alan Berks – a brilliant exploration of what really divides the Left and the Right. Performed by Glen Coffman, Carley Preston and Gabriela Natalia Urias, directed by Toni Press-Coffman. The Minneapolis-based playwright will be in attendance!
10 PM – The Worst Person In The Whole Entire World Of All Time Ever by Larry Kunofsky – an utterly unique comedy that asks the questions, "What does it take for a lesbian couple to be happy?" and "Any chance their Moms could help?"
Tickets can be purchased at the door: $5 per play, $12 for three plays; $15 for all four.
