St. Francis Theatre is auditioning for September performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Audition times:
Saturday 06-21-14, 10:00 am to noon
Thursday 06-26-14, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Saturday 06-28-14, 10:00 am to noon
All auditions at St Francis in the Foothills 4625 E. River Rd. Tucson AZ 85718 Room 30-31
We will be casting up to 16 adult parts (young and older) and 5 youth parts (general age range of 15 to 19 with previous stage experience).
A Midsummer Night's Dream is one of Shakespeare's most beloved and entertaining plays. It depicts the events surrounding the marriage of the Duke of Athens, the madcap romantic escapades of four young lovers and the efforts of six inept amateur actors as they seek to achieve fame. These characters are helped or hindered (or both) by a group of fairies from the forest. This lighthearted comedy will, for the most part, retain William Shakespeare's brilliant original language but will be set in modern times to enhance relevancy and comedic opportunities. Prior classical/Shakespearian experience is not required.
Come prepared to read excerpts from the script that will be provided. Bring a bio and headshot, if available. Plan to stay for as long as the full 2 hour block. This play will be directed by Mike Wilkinson.
