Subject: [SPAM] For Immediate Release: Harry Potter and the Haunted Ruins premiers Friday, October 10
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
In the continuation of a tradition dating back four decades, Valley of the Moon presents for your Halloween Pleasure a family friendly theatrical production: Harry Potter and the Haunted Ruins.
Valley of the Moon has a long history of community theater. During the early years the park’s founder, George Phar Legler, invited neighborhood children to play fairies, elves, trolls, and gnomes in his fantasy productions. In those days the actors were sworn to secrecy. To George it was imperative that the children in the audience truly believe that the magical creatures they met at Valley of the Moon were Real.
Valley of the Moon doesn’t make actors swear an oath of secrecy any more, but we are just as passionate about production quality. Our cast of 30 volunteer actors range in age from 8 to 60 years old. Some of them have been performing at Valley of the Moon for 20 years! They’ve been rehearsing for 4 hours per week for 8 weeks. We have a volunteer crew of 20 or so set builders, prop makers, and stage crafters who have worked countless hours from home crafting, sewing, mending, and inventing. After all this time and energy the show is finally ready!
Last Saturday we held our final dress rehearsal and invited three audiences: a local domestic violence shelter, a drug abuse rehabilitation center, and a troop of Girl Scouts. The show delighted everyone.
Harry Potter and the Haunted Ruins premiers this Friday, October 10th, at 6 PM and runs for 12 nights through the month. Visitors to Valley of the Moon for the show will begin their adventure in Diagon Alley where each and every guest will receive a free magic wand from Ollivander’s Wand Shop. Every 20 minutes the Hogwarts Express whisks another lucky batch of adventurers away to the newest Hogwarts campus: Valley of the Moon.
Hot food and drinks will be available from Tucson Food Truck Rally vendors.
