Tubac Center of the Arts Summer Arts Program Call for Teaching Artists

 

Calling all Southern Arizona Teaching Artists!  Tubac Center of the Arts is looking for Teaching Artists of all disciplines, including Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and Literary Arts, for the Summer Arts Program, a 4-week summer camp for 6-14 year olds.   You will have the freedom to develop your own lessons!

 

Students will rotate to different classes throughout the day; some students may take just one week, while other students will be there for all four weeks. Teaching Artists will develop 4 different lessons/projects, one per week (approximately 3-4 total contact hours per group), in their discipline.

 

Teaching Artists will also be paired with a Teen Assistant for each class, many of whom are past participants in the Summer Arts Program.  Teaching Artists must be available each day of the Summer Arts Program. 

 

Schedule

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

June 2-25, 2015

9:00 am - 3:30 pm

 

Pay

$25/ contact hour

Gas/travel stipend available

Supply budget available

 

Preferred Qualifications

5 years working as a Teaching Artist

Experience as an artist

Experience developing curriculum and lesson plans

Experience working with 6-14 year olds, K-8th graders

Experience working in a school, after-school program, or summer camp
