Arizona seeks public comment on changes to arts standards - Tucson News Now

PHOENIX (AP) - Proposed revisions to Arizona's standards for arts education in public schools are up for public review.
The state Department of Education says educators and others have until April 24 to comment on the draft versions of updated arts standards.
The department says it is soliciting comments through an online survey, email and other means, including three public webinars and public meetings in the Phoenix area, Flagstaff and Tucson.
The draft standards will be used to revise current standards for dance, media arts, music, theatre, and visual arts.
Superintendent of Public Instruction Diane Douglas says the arts are an important part of every child's education and that her staff will ensure that feedback received by the department is incorporated into the final versions.
