After a hugely successful inaugural season in their new location, The Community Players offer up Same Time, Next Year" as the final show of the year. It's the classic old story...boy meets girl, they fall in love...then for the next 25 years only see each other one weekend a year. They are married...but not to each other. They have six children...but not together. They are best of friends...but only talk once a year. The bond that they form is stronger than most marriages. Set in a guest cottage in Northern California, Same Time, Next Year is a masterfully written comedy by Bernard Slade, that is open and honest, with heartwarming moments and glimpses of raw emotion. We watch George and Doris grow up, grow older, discover themselves, care about each other's families, feel the pain, share the good times, become dependent on one another and fall in love more deeply than either of them want to admit.
Same Time, Next Year opens Friday July 10th and runs through July 26th with shows on Friday and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:00pm. For reservations call 520-887-6239. The Community Playhouse is located at 1881 N. Oracle Road. The theatre entrance and parking are located in the back of the building. Tickets are $16 general admission, $13 for students, seniors and military. Friday nights are Frugal Fridays and all tickets are just $10. You don't want to miss this one.
