Ballet Tucson presents its annual Spring Concert Dance & Dessert 2017!

To conclude its 2016-2017 season, Ballet Tucson presents its perennial spring favorite "Dance & Dessert." Multiple show times will be held at the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre between March 17–19, 2017. Ticket price includes admission to the concert, as well as a post-performance reception with coffee and dessert tastings from some of Tucson's best restaurants and eateries.

Repertoire
In the great tradition of Russian-style classical ballet, the company will premiere La Bayadere—Act III as the centerpiece of its 2016–2017 season finale.  This famous "Kingdom of the Shades" scene, meticulously staged by Assistant Artistic Director Chieko Imada, will be presented with other eclectic works.

Long-time Ballet Tucson associate Sam Watson stages his riotous comedy ballet Hi Jinks.  Watson's hilarious ballet is always an audience favorite and provides a striking contrast to La Bayadere.

Guest choreographer Kim Robards of the Denver-based Kim Robards Dance Company reprises her signature work Cascades—a dynamic contemporary ensemble piece performed with effervescence and spirit by Ballet Tucson's company of dancers.

Ballet Tucson Soloist Dancer Connolly Strombeck will debut Monster set to the quirky music of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.  Strombeck has been a participant of Ballet Tucson's ChoreoLab in which this contemporary piece found its genesis.  ChoreoLab was launched this season to nurture the next generation of choreographers and artistic directors.  This will be the first choreographic selection chosen from ChoreoLab for main stage performances.

The company's Ballet Master Daniel Precup will contribute several short neo-classical offerings to round out the wide range of repertoire for the 2017 Spring Concert.

Dessert tastings from Tucson's popular restaurants and eateries are served at a post-show reception at the conclusion of each performance.
