Subject: Have a Drink with Shakespeare
Shakespeare and Beer? What could be better?
Join us for the 3rd annual
BEER WITH THE BARD
a Shakespeare-themed pub crawl on 4th Avenue
Sunday April 23rd, join the Tucson Fringe Theatre Festival and several of Tucson's favorite actors and local celebrities in celebrating Shakespeare's 453rd birthday.
The afternoon begins at Ermano's Craft Beer and Wine Bar, with Shakespeare themed games, trivia, and an introduction by local artist, comedian, and bon-vivant David Fitzsimmons. Fitzsimmons will be creating an original work of Shakespeare-inspired art that we'll be raffling off later in the day. Also at Ermanos, local improvisation artists will attempt to perform the entirety of one of the Bard's tragedies in just ten minutes.
Then we'll head up to The Surly Wench (a Beer With The Bard favorite) for more Shakespeare comedy. After that we cross the street to one of our new venues, Cafe Passe, where Something Something Theatre Company will give audiences a sneak preview at their creative take on Taming of the Shrew. We'll end the festivities at The Flycatcher with one of the most beloved scenes from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Advance tickets are available at http://tucsonfringe.org for only $6 and include Tucson Fringe Festival swag (while supplies last). You can also get tickets at the door for $8.
There are two pub-crawl tours, each lasting about 2 hours. The first one starts at Ermanos at 2:30pm (ending at Flycatcher at about 4:45). The second tour starts at Ermanos at 3:30pm (ending at Flycatcher around 5:45). The same scenes will be performed on both tours. We will have a food truck in the parking lot at Flycatcher until 6:30pm.
