Live Theatre Workshop is looking for motivated, enthusiastic, and organized individuals who have a passion for theatre design and tech.

 

Live Theatre Workshop is hiring multiple technical directors, set designers, and individuals interested in designing and building sets for the 2019 – 2020 Mainstage season.

 

The goal of the design position is to create a scenic concept that sets the time, place, and tone of a production that works creatively and practically with a director's vision and in the Live Theatre Workshop Theatre space.

 

Designer responsibilities include but are not limited to: Organizing production meetings, collaborating with the artistic staff to establish an overarching show vision, creating concept sketches, creating design sketches and elevations, designing set dressing and color palette, maintaining strong communication with the artistic team throughout the process, and working and managing the show budget.

 

Technical Director Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Overseeing the construction of the design, managing a budget, purchase supplies, organizing and scheduling tech team for load-in/build-day, maintaining strong communication with the designer and artistic team, contribute to production meetings, oversee a small energetic staff of builders and volunteers.

 

Designers and technical directors are both independent contractor positions that offer a chance to be creative and independent, while working with a team of dedicated artists in a fast-paced and well organized environment.
