Hello everybody!  Chris from Unscrewed Theater here.

I had this newsletter already written – in the can, as one would say.

Then last week happened.

And the world that we thought was SO challenging already took a turn that we didn't see coming. Or at least I didn't. And our "stay home and stay safe" turned into civil unrest and curfews.

It's our goal to promote a learning & performing environment free of discrimination - open and supportive to all artists and patrons. As an organization that values free speech, we stand behind the right to protest peacefully and safely and to avoid violence.

We try to steer clear of politics and social issues at Unscrewed Theater. We want to be the place where you can be in the moment, laugh the night away, and forget about all the things that don't make you laugh. For a while.

And that is one thing that won't EVER change. The laughter. Not if we have anything to say about it.

So here we are. It's the beginning of June, and Unscrewed Theater hasn't had an in-person show for two and a half months. It only SEEMS like forever.

We just can't express how much we miss the community of our Unscrewed family – the smiling faces, the laughter, and hugs. Boy, do we miss the hugs.

If there is anything I can do, or the theater can do, to help you out, I hope you know that you can reach out to us. You may have lost your job, a loved one, or just your peace of mind. Let's find a way to get through this together. Because get through this we will.

We're keeping a close eye on the business of running in business in Tucson – trying to figure out when and how to re-open our doors. While we know it won't be the same as before, we still haven't figured out the when.

From the data and info we've seen, it only makes sense for me to announce that we'll continue to entertain you online only for the month of June.

And entertain you we will!

Our May online workshops were a great success. Well-attended (as in SOLD OUT) with laughs, smiles, and learning all around. We'll keep that up in June, too. We have a "WorkSHOW" lined up with Scotty Watson on Friday, 6/26 – tickets will be on sale soon. Keep your eyes peeled.

We also just confirmed that Michael Gellman will be partnering with us for a 4-workshop online series on Sundays, June 21st & 28th. Michael visited Tucson in 2017, and we're thrilled to welcome him back...virtually.

Can't wait until then to see other people's faces and practice some improv? Try out our Improv Drop-In class on Monday nights. Join folks from all over the world, hosted by our seasoned improvisers – and make Monday the best day of the week. Register online here.

Did you catch our last Quarantine Countdown? Well, you don't wanna miss the second round starting June 15th!  We're featuring some blast from the past players you just might remember! Vicki McGee, Mark Berry, Whitney Weber, Sara T, Andrew Jones, Hilary Bluestein-Lyons, Evan Deaubl, and Brian Armstrong from across the pond! This kinda thing doesn't happen every often (EVER!), so mark your calendar now. And it's FREE!

Our improv duos will enter the Zoom Battle Arena, and create a three-minute scene based on a random suggestion. And the best part? YOU get to pick the winner. Just watch the video on Facebook and vote for your fav! Details on our Facebook page.

Oh. And EVERY TIME YOU VOTE, you're entered to win FREE PASSES to Unscrewed Theater once it's safe to get together in-person.

And don't forget. EVERY Saturday night @ 7:30 pm, we've got our FREE Unscrewed House Party show. Family-friendly online fun for everyone. All you have to do is register online here – and set your alarm for 7:30 Saturday night!

So, that's what we know about June. For now.  I'm working on rounding up more workshops and classes – and as soon as I have things ironed out, you'll be the first know. We'll put it in our weekly email, on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Now, can I get serious for a minute?

First, I want to thank you. For your continued support, financial and otherwise. It has been overwhelming. Thank you for believing in what we do.

And right now, that's providing as much FREE online content as we can muster, along with down-right-cheap online classes & workshops. Whatever we can do to make you smile – from a safe distance.

You probably know we're 100% volunteer-run – every last one of us does this for you. The folks that like to laugh at us.

Right now, our future is in your hands. More than you know.

'Cuz we still have bills to pay.

We know that not everyone is in the position to donate now. To you, we say – enjoy our free content as much as you can. We'll get through these tough times together.

If you are one of the lucky ones who have a few coins to spare, we'd love for you to join our family of supporters. It's easy to do online, and every dollar helps. Every gift and every donor makes us stronger.

Thanks, in advance, for your support. Click here to set up a monthly donation.

Donate $100 or more, and we'll send you one of our My MONEY Helped Save the Funny t-shirts!

Or you can just buy our newest form of Quarantine Loungewear right herehttps://threadready.printavo.com/merch/unscrewed_pst/products/unscrewed-theater-tee-49256

Maybe you'd rather support us by buying a chance to win a new truck! Jim Click Millions for Tucson Raffle tickets are on sale right here. And every penny stays right at the theater!  AND every ticket you buy gets you a chance to win a FREE private improv show.

In closing, as always, stay safe and let us know how you're doing. I'll be over here washing my hands, working on ways to keep you smiling.

Thanks and Take Care,
