Winding Road Theater Ensemble presents our second annual
ten minute play festival: Eight 10s in Tucson Online!
Eight 10s in Tucson Online is now playing on Winding Road's YouTube channel! These eight original scripts were chosen from hundreds of blind submissions from playwrights all over America, vetted and curated to assemble an eclectic collection of comedies and dramas on myriad themes pertinent to our lives. We'll be rolling out a new play every few days until all eight are live. Producing the festival online gives us the opportunity to share our work with the world at large, so please share our link, far and wide!
Our fifth installment is Choices, by James McLindon. A debtor, burdened by crushing student loans, is offered a way out, but is the deal too good to be true? In a climate of financial unrest, facing an uncertain future, this play asks what price we're willing to pay for quality of life. Choices is directed by Ensemble Member Tyler Gastelum, and stars Erin Hepler and Ensemble Member Samantha Severson. Samantha received the 2019 Mac Award for Best Actress in a Comedy for her performance in Winding Road's production of Stupid F!#*ing Bird. After cancelling the planned live production of Eight 10s in Tucson this spring, Winding Road artists-actors, directors, and technicians-worked remotely to create this festival of eight short plays, rehearsed and filmed live via video conferencing. Eight 10s Online is being presented without cost to the viewer. We hope that you'll click on our donation button and support Winding Road. While theaters are closed, our only income is via donations from friends who miss the experience of sitting in the dark, sharing a moment of discovery with strangers.
