This is an auditon notice for CIRCLE JERK by Richard Chaney, a full-
length play, to be presented as the first offering in the 2007/08
Live Theatre Workshop's Late Nite Etcetera series. Jessica Hudson
will be directing.
Auditions begin at 8 p.m. Sunday 8/26/07 in Tucson at Live Theatre
Workshop, 5317 E. Speedway, where performances are scheduled for
Friday & Saturday Nights 10/26 through 11/17. Rehearsals to begin
in September. No appointments. No monolgues. Cold-readings from

CIRCLE JERK, which was developed at Old Pueblo Playwrights and
received its first staged reading at the Cabaret Theatre in 2006, is
a modern day La Ronde, set in Seattle, examining the sexual pairings
of eight couples who are unwittingly transmitting HIV.
The characters include: (1) Axel, a drug-abusing college student,
who is involved with his female teacher (2) Bree, a failed dot.com
executive, who is married to (3) Ford, an uptight dentist, who has
an affair with his neighbor (4) Jane, a wife grieving the death of
her daughter, who is married to (5) Ned, a sexually repressed import-
export businessman, who takes up with (6) Rafael, a sex-for-hire
actor, who "marries" (7) Victor, a bisexual psychologist, despite
Victor's long-time relationship with (8) Zee, a female opera singer,
who ends up being a hospice volunteer for (1) Axel.
No roles have been pre-cast. Age ranges: 2 males (20s), 2 males
