Tucson: Second Auditions for Horror Films with Distribution

Subject: Second Auditions for Horror Films with Distribution

 

A second open casting call will be held this Thursday for two short horror films to be shot throughout the fall.

 

When:  Thursday, 9 August, 7:00 - 9:00 PM

Where:  Access Tucson, 124 E Broadway, Conference Room

Bring:  Two copies of headshot (or photograph) and resume.

 

Actors are wanted for seven principal roles.  Sides are available at http://www.brianmulligan.com/sides.html  Actors are expected to be familiar with the sides for the characters they wish to audition for.

 

Lily - female, 7 to 12 (plays 8), pretty Caucasian girl, large imagination to help her escape from the pain of her everyday life

 

Wang Zi - male, 7 to 12 (plays 8), Asian, trying to escape from old witch, good story-teller

 

Witch - female, 30s to 40s, Asian, domineering, controls everything in Wang Zi's life, thought to have magical power

 

Mother - female, 30s, Caucasian, working class, alcoholic, heavy set, face will not be seen in the film

 

Father - male, 30s, Caucasian, working class, alcoholic, face will not be seen in the film

 

Troy - male, late teens to early 20s, dark hair, skinny build, has turned to drugs to deal with his inner demons and physical pain, prefers to be alone, subtle in his expressions, smart, creative, insightful, seems blank and uncaring but is actually empathetic with everything

 

Jayme - female, late teens to early 20s, young and capricious, an innocent pixie in punk clothing, doesn't like hanging out with people unless she knows them

 

Compensation - these are paid positions, small daily rate.  (Not all actors will be needed all days of each film.)

 

Rehearsal schedule:  for Troy and Jayme - Aug 25 & Sep 1 & 8

Rehearsal schedule:  for Lily, Wang Zi, Witch, Mother, and Father - Aug 26 & Sep 1-2

Shooting schedule:  for Troy and Jayme - Sep 14-16

Shooting schedule:  for Lily, Wang Zi, Witch, Mother, and Father - Oct 12-14 & 20-21 & 27-28

Pickups for both films will be:  Dec 15-16 & 22-23

 

Additional information:  These films are an opportunity to work with experienced filmmakers on films that have distribution agreements in place.

 

Production company:  Teo / Ward Productions (www.teoward.com) was founded in 2005 by Pearry Reginald Teo and Chad Michael Ward to develop cutting edge and world-class films and music videos.  The founders have collaborated with artists such as Bai Ling, Faye Dunaway, Alec Newman, Parry Shen, Marilyn Manson, The Cruxshadows, Fear Factory, Collide, and Darkane.  Teo's films have won numerous awards at festivals across the country.  His feature film The Gene Generation is in the final stages of post-production prior to release.  Ward's photographic art has appeared in dozens of publications around the world.  He directed Dragonlord's Until the End.
