Please join us for a free public workshop with The Rogue Theatre!
MASK AS MEETING PLACE
Dr. Patty Gallagher, Artist-in-Residence of The Rogue Theatre, will present a workshop on the use of masks in the theatre utilizing 48 masks she has gathered throughout the world. With an eclectic background in clowning, Balinese dance, and Shakespearean drama, Dr. Gallagher has joined the Rogue Theatre this year as a performer and teacher.
The workshop will be at the Rogue Rehearsal Hall at 210 W. 5th Street, #3, at the NW corner of 10th Avenue and 5th Street, , on Saturday, August 11th, 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.

Dr. Patricia Gallagher is an Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts at University of California Santa Cruz where she directs courses in physical theatre, mask performance, Balinese dance, and clown traditions. She is director in residence for the Clown Conservatory, a year-round training program of the San Francisco School of Circus Arts. She holds a doctorate in Theatre and Drama from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has performed clown and buffoon with Teatro Cronopio and studied in Laboratorio Grupo Malayerba. She has worked with the New Pickle Circus, Fool Time Circus, Folger Shakespeare Theatre, Shakespeare-Santa Cruz, San Francisco Youth Circus and the Weird Sisters Ensemble. She has also performed and directed workshops in Asia, South America, Europe and the U.S.
