Arizona Onstage Productions, Tucson's award winning (and sorta broke) musical theater company, is seeking a dynamic computer artist who can jump head-first into creating projected works/scenic design for a production of Stephen Sondheim's Pulitzer and Tony Award winning musical SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE - based on the works of artist George Seurat. We are the only company besides the current NYC Broadway company to get the rights to this show. It involves creating "a background that comes to life" via LCD video projection on the cyc at the back of the stage. There is not a lot of pay, however, there will be HUGE exposure to this production that runs June 19th - 29th. It needs to be more than a powerpoint but nothing totally decadent... Please respond, and I will talk detail. In the meantime, go to www.roundabouttheatre.org to get an idea - we don't want and can't go this full tech, but it gives you a suggestion...
Great people in the cast and crew...

Arizona Onstage Productions, Tucson's Award-winning live musical theater company (semi-broke, but still goin') looking for a specialist in digital projection for its upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim's Tony and Pulitzer prize-winning musical SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE - playing seven shows, from June 19th - 29th, at The Pima West Black Box Theater. We need someone who can understand front digital projections that can fill a backdrop, yet not interfere with the actors on stage - it has to do with angles of the lcd projector as well as focus.
Honestly, I know NOTHING about this and am in quite a bind.
The show is based on artist Georges Seurat's pointillist masterpiece, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte...
Please email with any questions. I am very tech stupid and need help with this very highly publicized show.... Questions like throw distance, back projection and such - I am honestly clueless - but I know what I want to see. I know that if we use rear projection, it has to have a very wide throw - and if we use front it has to be at a severe angle... HELP!!!
Thanks so very much.
