Position Summary

The University of Arizona School of Media Arts seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor to teach media industries in the Producing Division for a one-year appointment starting Fall 2008, with possible renewal for 2009-10.

Located in the College of Fine Arts, the School of Media Arts currently consists of 325 full-time students, 15 faculty, several adjunct faculty and 8 professional staff.
Media Arts offers programs of study leading to a B.A. in Film & Television Studies, a B.A. in Producing, a B.F.A. in Production and an M.A. in Critical Studies.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Teach upper-division required Producing course in the contemporary U.S. film and television industry.
* Undergraduate senior seminars on media industries topics.
* Graduate foundations course on media industries, in the Media Arts M. A. program.
* Depending on qualifications, a lower-division survey of film and television history.

Additional Minimum Qualifications

* Ability to teach, full-time in residence, in a program that bridges the academic and the professional worlds of the media arts.  

Preferred Qualifications

* Ph.D. with a concentration in media industries.
* University-level teaching experience.
