Auditions announced for Redondo Music Theatre's
DAMN YANKEES
Open "drop in" auditions for RMT's March production of DAMN YANKEES are set for Tuesday, Wednesday, Feb. 10 & 11, from 7-9:30pm, at the Rosemont Community Church, 5005 E. Winsett Blvd. (It's south of Broadway off Rosemont.) Callbacks are Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7pm. Ample off-street parking is available. We will be rehearsing at the same location.
ALL ROLES ARE OPEN
The three performances are March 20, 21st at 7:30pm and the 22nd at 2pm in the TCC Leo Rich Theater, 260 S. Court. Rehearsals begin Sunday, Feb. 15th and continue Sundays through Fridays. No Saturdays. Sunday rehearsals are from l-8 pm, with an hour dinner break. Weeknights are 7-10pm. Rehearsal times will not use all actors each night until moving into the theatre Monday, March 16th.
Roles needed are:
Joe & Meg Boyd- An older couple. He's a baseball fanatic.
Mr. Applegate-The Devil in disguise. A great fun role.
Sister & Doris- Two somewhat "dizzy" friends of Meg.
Joe Hardy- The younger incarnation of Joe Boyd—the savior of the ball team.
Gloria Thorpe- The newspaper reporter who investigates too much.
Lola- The "vamp" who nearly upsets the apple cart. Sexy (oh yeah!)
Van Buren- The coach. He sings "Heart".
Mr. Welch (owner of the team); Baseball Commissioner; Postmaster- Older. No singing.
Baseball Players- Wide assortment of men. Young to older. All sing/some dance.
Their Women- Wives, girlfriends. All ages, types, etc. All sing/some dance.
Teenagers- Girls and Boys. Some singing/dancing.
THERE IS SOME DOUBLING OF PLAYERS/WOMEN. All ethnicities encouraged.
Bring sheet music in your key (NO ROCK) preferably not from the show, photo and resume—unless already in our files.
