Tucson: Batucaxe presents "Join the Circus" this Saturday Night!

Hello, everyone! Come one, come all. . . to the greatest show on a sultry Tucson Summer evening! Join us this Saturday night when Batucaxe will perform as part of Rhythm Industry Review's "Join the Circus."

What: Kids from the Rhythm Industry Circus Camp (http://tucsoncircusarts.com/news-events ) will strut their stilts and poi skills, bang drums, get down with some mad ballet moves, and frighten us with new aerial feats. Camp instructors — Flam Chen and Odaiko Sonora — will show off a bit, along with fellow Rhythm Industry Performance Factory performing groups, Batucaxé, Movement Salon, Theatrical Mime Theatre and many others. There'll be cookies and such, chips, dip and a variety of beverages. Open to all, $10 suggested donation.

When: Saturday, June 13, 7 to 10 p.m.

Where: Rhythm Industry Performance Factory, 1013 S. Tyndall Avenue (map)

How much: Open to all. $10 suggested donation to benefit the Rhythym Industry Performance Factory

Batucaxé is a non-profit drum and dance ensemble and school in Tucson, Arizona. Inspired by the music of Brazil, Batucaxe (pronounced bah-too-cah-SHEY) features the music of many traditions, from Brazil and all over the world. Batucaxé Drum school/rehearsal is held on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 pm.¨

Dance classes are held Sundays from 5-6:15 p.m. with live Drumming!

Both are held at The Rhythm Industry Factory, 1013 S. Tyndall Avenue
