Plot: Amateur sleuth and retired sea captain – Commander Lord Hastings – joins the passengers of the Gila Chub for a voyage of relaxation to South America -- that gets interrupted by murder. A delightful cast of suspects includes the acting couple on the lam, Mr. and Miss Twigg, Captain Decker and First Mate Mr. Muddle, Hastings' butler Bracegirdle, Major Rolling-Stockton and his charming wife Daphne with her maid Polly, and a lively widow, Mrs. Peabody. So many motives and opportunities keep the audience guessing while the characters sing, fall in love, and face danger on the high seas.
