Subject: Improv Master Class at The Rogue Theatre
Come join us this Saturday August 13th from 5pm-7pm for The Rogue Actors Laboratory's first Master Class!
Intro to Longform, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Put Down the Script
Our goal in this workshop will be to help our students learn valuable performative skills through long-form improvisation, providing an alternate experience to scripted theater whose lessons will open the minds of performers of any age to building an ensemble, gaining trust in their own instincts, and lessening fear of the unknown and the unexpected while onstage. And moreover to have fun! Improv gives performers the chance to really let loose and push their boundaries, to play zany characters and find themselves in situations they could never have imagined.
This two-hour workshop is $20 and taught by NYC based actor and improviser Brian Hendricks! Come join us at The Rogue Theatre, 300 E. University Blvd, and check out the newly renovated actor training studio!
Brian Hendricks: Brian Hendricks is an actor and improviser living in Brooklyn, New York. He is currently on a house team at The People's Improv Theater in Manhattan, his teachers including its founder Ali Farahnakian (who has written for SNL and appeared on Law & Order: SVU, 30 Rock, and Louie) in addition to Chris Roberti (High Maintenance, Broad City) and Rachel Rosenthal (member of lauded hip-hip improv group North Coast). Brian has also worked in New York's underground comedy scene with his indie improv team of two years, Vivian Delano, alongside up-and-coming comedic talents such as Julio Torres, Dan Licata, and Catherine Cohen. Brian has also studied at The Magnet Theater and Upright Citizens Brigade. While earning his BFA in Acting from The University of Arizona, Brian was also a member of the school's much loved short-form improv team The Charles Darwin Experience.
