The University of Arizona School of Theatre, Film & Television presents

What's Up, Docs?: Documentary Films by BFA & BA students

Tucson, AZ – This year's documentary showcase, What's Up, Docs?, features 12 new short films, exploring a smorgasbord of subjects from art, science and religion, to culture and politics. The diverse program profiles local musician/painter Salvador Duran; fish, amphibian and reptile enthusiasts creating elaborate aquariums, herpetariums and terrariums; and a Tohono O'odham female power-lifter who's training for a competition; local Satanic Temple members; EMTs in training; underground artists performing in a local DIY space; the inventor of the insect sting pain index, and the YouTube star who popularized it. From a polarizing Trump rally in Phoenix to a custom car rally, a peek behind the scenes of an improv comedy group, and a personal meditation on the equivocal attractions of Greek life, this year's eclectic slate of films features something for everyone. (Plays Tuesday, Dec 5, 2017, at 7pm at the Loft Cinema. Free Admission.)
