UA School of Theatre Arts presents Encore! and Freshman Debut performance

Date & Time: December 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Place: Marroney Theatre on the UA campus located near the southeast corner of Park Avenue and Speedway Boulevard.

Cost/Admission: All seats are $6.

Ticket Information: UA Fine Arts Box Office, (520) 621-1162, Open: M-F, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and one hour prior to show time.

Parking: Theatregoers may park in the Park Avenue Garage, located on Park Ave. just north of Speedway Blvd.  Pre-pay parking is available Monday through Friday, from 5 p.m. to midnight.  Take your parking ticket immediately to the garage cashier after parking.  Cashier is located on the east side of the main level.  Parking fee will be $3 (cash only).  After the performance, insert the parking ticket at the gate to exit.

Production Information: For one night only Encore!, presenting “With A Song In My Heart – The Rodgers and Hart Songbook,” featuring the music of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, will be paired with the Freshman Debut performance of “Debut 2007: An Actor Prepares.”

Featured song titles in “With A Song In My Heart – The Rodgers and Hart Songbook” include “Blue Moon,” “My Funny Valentine,” “Falling in Love with Love,” “This Can’t Be Love,” “I Could Write a Book,” “Bewitched,” “Isn’t it Romantic,” “Johnny One Note,” and “Sing for Your Supper.”

“Debut 2007: An Actor Prepares” is an original piece, devised and directed by Harold Dixon. It focuses on the efforts of beginning freshman actors to become professional actors.

Encore! features spirited revues from the best of Broadway and musical theatre performed by our freshman BFA Musical Theatre majors. The Freshman Debut is a collection of scenes and monologues performed by our BFA Acting majors each semester. Each year, a new version of “Debut” is created to highlight the training and showcase the talents of the incoming freshman class of actors.
