Tucson, Arizona – Pima Community College Music presents Nota Bene (formerly A Pair o’ Pipes) featuring music faculty Sandy Schwoebel on flute, soprano Elena Todd and pianist Jeffrey Campbell. The program includes “Nell dolce dell 'oblio” by George Friderick Handel, “Une Flûte Invisible” by Camille Saint-Saëns, “Élégie” by Jules Massenet, and “Sing, Smile and Slumber” by Charles Gounod. The trio also performs “Three Irish Folksong Settings” by John Corigliano, “Wit and Wisdom” by William Bradley Roberts, and “Good Morning, Mr. Bluebird” by Gary Schocker.
 
Schwoebel holds a DMA degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music and teaches at Pima Community College. She also works as an artist in TUSD’s nationally recognized Opening Minds through the Arts program. She has played chamber music, worked with flute choirs and toured around the world (recently seven concerts in China).
 
Todd holds degrees from Cornell University and The Peabody Institute. She has performed in opera, oratorio and musical theater with the Washington Civic Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Greater Miami Opera, Mozart on the Square and the Ocean City Pops. She is a two-time winner of the Pavarotti International Voice Competition and a winner of the Eastern Region of the Metropolitan Opera Competition. Todd has performed with the Arizona Symphonic Winds, Tucson Pops, Catalina Chamber Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Tucson, Tucson Masterworks Chorale, Bach Marathon and Southern Arizona Light Opera. She is soprano soloist with St. Philips in the Hills Episcopal Church and teaches voice privately.  
 
Campbell is associate music director and organist of St. Philip’s in the Hills Episcopal Church. He is an organist, harpsichordist and accompanist for several local ensembles and performers, including Tucson Chamber Artists and Masterworks Chorale. He is particularly noted for his interpretations of the music of J.S. Bach.
 
The Nota Bene concert is open to the public. Tickets are available at the Center for the Arts box office, located on West Campus at 2202 West Anklam Road, Tucson, (just west of downtown and I-10 on St. Mary’s Road which turns into Anklam Road). Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday, noon-5 p.m. and one hour prior to performance.
