PCPA Theaterfest will be holding an audition for its 2010 summer season on Sunday, January 17th in room 116 in the Theatre building at the University of Arizona in Tucson from 10am – 12pm. 

 

PCPA is located in Santa Maria, CA

All positions are paid.  Union and non-union actors encouraged to attend

 

The season is:  Curtains, Sylvia, West Side Story, Songs for a New World, Invierno (world premiere)

 

The entire season is June 1st – Sept. 19th, however one show contracts are available.

 

The audition will be held in room 116 in the Theatre building at the University of Arizona in Tucson from 10am – 12pm on Sunday January 17th, 2010.

 

If you would like to audition please email a picture and resume to Erik Stein at casting@pcpa.org by Thursday, January 7th, 2010.

He will then contact you for an appointment.

 

Please prepare:

One contemporary Monologue 60 to 90 seconds

One song 16 to 32 Bars (No accompanist, if you would like to sing please bring recorded accompaniment and something on which to play it)

 

Seeking Strong actors of all ethnicities & strong dancers of all ethnicities who act and sing well for our 2010 Season

 

Breakdown:

Curtains: ensemble replacements. strong dancer/singers of any ethnicity

Sylvia:

Sylvia (Strong comic actress in her mid 20s-Quirky yet sexy & alluring-Good mover)

 

Greg (Middle aged man, feels something is missing in his life)

 

Kate (Greg's wife, middle aged woman, her kids are out of the house, and she is starting a new career)

 

Man (strong comic actor, plays three roles: a man, a women, and an androgynous character)

 

West Side Story:

 

Sharks & Jets - Strong ethnic dancers who act and sing & dancers of any ethnicity who act and sing.

 

Tony (strong actor with a beautiful tenor voice, looks 18 to 21 years old)

 

Maria (Strong actor with a beautiful soprano voice, looks 16 to 18 years old)

 

Riff (Strong dancer, singer, actor. Athletic, leader of the Jets, looks 18 to 21 years old)

 

Bernardo (strong ethnic dancer, singer, actor. Dignified, leader of the Sharks, looks 18 to 21 years old)

 

Anita (strong ethnic dancer, singer, actor. Bernardo's fiery girlfriend. Looks 18 to 21)

Songs for a New World:

two men, two women (Great singing actors who move. Any ethnicity. Especially looking for a very strong ethnic pop tenor)

 

Invierno (World Premiere by Jose Cruz Gonsalez, loosely based on Shakespeare's Winter's Tale, Latin American actors strongly encouraged to attend. See Shakespeare's 'Winter's Tale' for Breakdown
