THE 2012/2013 SEASON

Broadway in Tucson/A Nederlander Presentation proudly announces the 2012/2013 Season, its ninth season of presenting Broadway’s best shows and live entertainment in Tucson. This season is going to ROCK!

The season begins in November with the Tony award-winning revival of ANYTHING GOES, Cole Porter’s first-class comedy featuring some of musical theater’s most memorable standards, including “I Get a Kick out of You,” “You’re the Top,” and of course, “Anything Goes.” Turn up that dial with the Arizona premiere of MEMPHIS in February.  The 2010 Tony award-winning Best Musical bursts off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs and a thrilling tale of fame and forbidden love. Back by “popular” demand in March, Broadway biggest blockbuster musical, WICKED, returns to Tucson for a limited three week engagement. In April, BLUE MAN GROUP will thrill Tucson with its high-octane theatrical experience.  The season ends in May with MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, inspired by the electrifying true story of the famed recording session where Sam Phillips, the “Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll” brought together icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for one unforgettable night.

Back by “Popular” demand.  Variety calls WICKED "a cultural phenomenon,” and when it last played Tucson in 2011, it broke box office records and sold out in record time. Winner of 35 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards, WICKED is “Broadway’s biggest blockbuster” (The New York Times).

Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One - born with emerald green skin - is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good makes for "the most complete - and completely satisfying - new musical in a long time" (USA Today).

Entertainment News exclaims, “BLUE MAN GROUP is what every live performance aspires to be.” The Baltimore Sun raves, “Blue Man Group packs a wallop. It’s a big, loud, funny, silly, visually arresting production!”

Although it is impossible to describe, people of all ages agree that BLUE MAN GROUP is an intensely exciting and wildly outrageous show that leaves the entire audience in a blissful, euphoric state. With no spoken language, BLUE MAN GROUP is perfect for people of all ages, languages, and cultures.
