THE 2012/2013 SEASON
Broadway in Tucson/A Nederlander Presentation proudly announces the 2012/2013 Season, its ninth season of presenting Broadway’s best shows and live entertainment in Tucson. This season is going to ROCK!
The season begins in November with the Tony award-winning revival of ANYTHING GOES, Cole Porter’s first-class comedy featuring some of musical theater’s most memorable standards, including “I Get a Kick out of You,” “You’re the Top,” and of course, “Anything Goes.” Turn up that dial with the Arizona premiere of MEMPHIS in February. The 2010 Tony award-winning Best Musical bursts off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs and a thrilling tale of fame and forbidden love. Back by “popular” demand in March, Broadway biggest blockbuster musical, WICKED, returns to Tucson for a limited three week engagement. In April, BLUE MAN GROUP will thrill Tucson with its high-octane theatrical experience. The season ends in May with MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, inspired by the electrifying true story of the famed recording session where Sam Phillips, the “Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll” brought together icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for one unforgettable night.
Season ticket packages are on sale now and range in price from $60-$387. Package prices differ depending on the number of shows, day of week and seating section selected. Season ticket holders save off regular ticket prices, get priority seating and can exchange their tickets in the event of a scheduling conflict. Back by popular demand, patrons can select the opening night Tuesday performance series for the best savings. Called the “Super-Saver Tuesday” deal, patrons can save up to 50% off regular ticket prices. Season tickets holders also get the first chance to purchase tickets to two Special Events this season.
ANN HAMPTON CALLAWAY Sings Streisand presented by the Tucson Symphony Orchestra at the Tucson Music Hall December 1 and 2, 2012. Callaway promises a performance that celebrates the extraordinary career of Barbra Streisand, from her Broadway years to her film works and beyond. Then on January 26, 2013 Laughter and Reflection with CAROL BURNETT at UA Centennial Hall co-presented by Broadway in Tucson and UApresents. “A Conversion with Carol Where the Audience Asks the Questions” is a rare opportunity to talk to Carol in an intimate audience-interactive format with one of America’s most loved and respected performers.
Students (ages 18 and under or anyone with a student ID) get special discounts on seating in sections B, C & D for most performances (excluding WICKED). Also, an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreted season ticket package is available for patrons who are deaf or hard of hearing, with seating in the reserved ASL section. The Sunday evening performances will feature open-captioning with reserved seating.
Tickets are only available in season ticket packages at this time. Individual tickets for ANYTHING GOES will go on sale in the fall and all other shows will be announced at a later date.
Ticket buyers purchasing 10 or more tickets are eligible for savings up to 20% off the regular adult ticket price by reserving their group seats in advance. WICKED groups start at 20 tickets with savings of up to 10% on select performances. Group sales for the 2012/2013 season will be available in June.
