BORDERLANDS THEATER ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR THE 2012/13 SEASON


GUAPA by Caridad Svich
Dates:October 4-21, 2012
GUAPA by Caridad Svich (NNPN Rolling World Premiere)
In a small Texas town, caught in the long history of class struggle/racism, lives Guapa, a young
woman and her makeshift family, who dreams of playing women's
soccer. This is a story about a working class family trying to make
ends meet with magical dreams of sports, graffiti, birds in flight,
indigenous history, trauma, recovery, and the viable possibilities
of a better life.
Cast: 3 women (1 in her 40-50s, 2 college age), and two men (both college age). People of color strongly encouraged to audition.

A family favorite for the 17th year!
Shepherds, Sheep and Dog follow the Star to Belen to witness the miracle of the Nativity. Sneaky Devils are in hot pursuit to snare them with gadgets and tasty treats while the Glorious Archangels protect them with flaming swords and witty tactics. Will evil finally destroy the innocent and their hope for a new life? or will fortitude and compassion will prevail? As always, Gertie and the T.O. BOYZ will accompany the quest. Pinatas for the chicos after every performance. 
  Cast: All ages, ethnicities, and genders.

Creon- male 50-70's Latino, Native American or mixed.
