Barbea Williams Performing Company presents "Kwanzaa Voyages"
The values and morals of Kwanzaa are explored in a series of workshops, performances, photo gallery and lecture/demonstrations presented by Barbea Williams Performing Company and Friends. Our travels to “Know Thy Self” are shared through Dr. Karenga’s Kawaida System, this laid the foundation for the celebration of Kwanzaa and it’s seven principles observed during Kwanzaa and throughout the year.
These workshops offer Pan African-Centered Cult
ural Dance, Drum, Carnival Games, Story Lore, Arts and Crafts workshops. Our hands on African-Centered Arts Carnival, Kwanzaa Symbols and Principles, Ethnic Face Painting, - spotlight on Nigeria, Burkina Faso and African, African American and Plantation children’s games . This intergenerational event involves interaction, audience participation and educational enrichment with members of the Barbea Williams Performing Company, Students of the Dunbar Dance and Art Academy and Special Guests.
Door and Raffle Prizes throughout the day.
