Subject: Worst Villain of ALL-TIME Arrives at UA in March
Quick, HIDE!
Or, enjoy the deeply twisted & dark psyche of the worst villain of all time from the comfort & safety of your theatre seat in the Tornabene Theatre.
IAGO
is coming…
That means Shakespeare's OTHELLO will be playing in March at Arizona Repertory Theatre. Some have said that Iago is the most evil villain in any story - ever - because he gains the trust of others, relentlessly takes advantage of his peers' flaws, & unapologetically causes the deaths (yes, deaths) of his counterparts in order to achieve his goals. Or, maybe he doesn't really have the goals you think he does. Maybe...he just…enjoys...the mayhem.
UA's Arizona Repertory Theatre presents OTHELLO
by William Shakespeare, directed by Brent Gibbs
TUCSON, AZ - Deemed the darkest tale of the human heart ever written, this is the story of a man who loves, yet cannot trust. The play centers on Othello, the Moorish General, whose valiant exploits have saved the state and won him the love of Desdemona, who defies social convention and her father's will to marry him. But Othello's ensign, Iago, harbors a secret resentment and plants the seed that will destroy Othello's love. Featuring some of Shakespeare's most beautiful poetry, Othello tells a timeless, tragic tale of love, deceit, jealousy and murder.
