Hi everyone,
The Lisa Otey & Friends series continues Monday, March 2 with vocalist Liz McMahon! As an actress and singer, Liz has graced stages from Tucson to Key West portraying some of our favorite personalities, including Patsy Cline, Sophie Tucker and Rosemary Clooney. She is also a member of Lisa Otey and the Desert Divas. It is a thrill to showcase Liz McMahon in the intimate setting of the parlor in Z Mansion.
In her performance on March 2nd, Liz will focus on a musical phenomenon. We have all known someone who has been touched by the challenges and struggles brought on by dementia and Alzheimer's. Studies have shown that it may be possible to diminish the effects of dementia and even strengthen our mental capacities by singing familiar show tunes. Liz will lead us in a fun and interactive evening of singalongs from some of our favorite musicals, including Oklahoma!, The Fantasticks, The Sound of Music, Anything Goes, and many more. You won't want to miss it!
Tickets for "Sing Your Brains Out with Liz McMahon", with an opening set by Lisa Otey, are $15. All seats are reserved. Diane Van Deurzen & Lisa Otey's Songbook Series will conclude Mon., March 23 at Z Mansion, with our tribute to George & Ira Gershwin and Cole Porter! We also have other shows coming up, including our dinner show at the DeAnza RV Resort in Amado on Thur., Feb. 26; our dinner show at St. Mark's UMC Spring Festival on March 7; and restaurant gigs at The Hog Pit Smokehouse, March 1 & April 12, Hacienda del Sol, March 29 and Monterey Court, April 19.
