"The Invisible Art of Editing"

Tuesday, June 6th at 7 PM

Art Institute of Tucson
5099 E Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ 85719

Open to the public

This interactive workshop is an overview of the principles and aesthetics of editing.

Taking a quick look at the history, this class explores the Hidden Art of Editing.  Editing impacts the rhythm, tone, pace and style of your film or video. Great editing can make a film great – and weak editing can undermine the best projects.  Come try your hand at "paper editing" a simple sequence and see how just changing the order (or length) of one shot can change the meaning and message of a scene.

Presenter:

Genie Joseph, PhD – Producer/Director – Former ABC staff Producer/Director, winner of International film awards and host of her own TV and Radio talk show in Honolulu.
