The Woman Who Fell From the Sky/

La Mujer Que Cayó del Cielo

By Victor Hugo Rascón Banda
Directed by Barclay Goldsmith

Back by popular demand! This is the true story of Rita Quintero, a Raramuri
(Tarahumara) Indian who is found wandering the streets of Kansas City. When
the local authorities don't understand her language and can't figure out who
she is, Rita is committed to a mental hospital for 12 years. Finally her
identity is discovered by Miguel Angel Giner, a Mexican social worker. In
order to free Rita, Giner unleashes several lawsuits against the authorities
and hospital responsible for her ordeal. This trilingual production takes an
extraordinary and bold look at cultural insensitivity and its impact on both
sides of the border. Featuring, Award Winning Mexican actress Luisa Huertas
(The Crime of Padre Amaro).
