Subject: Announcement: Comedy Improv Course
Comedy Improv I
at The Studio for ActorsComedy improv isn't half as hard as it looks when you learn it from a former Saturday Night Live cast member. Anna Risley gives you the keys: formats, dialects, and structure. Come play, have a ball, and enjoy discovering how funny you can be. Also, for acting students, studying comedy improv loosens up the body, helps you think fast on your feet, introduces dialects, and sharpens your timing.
This is a four-week course (four consecutive Wednesday evenings). However, if your schedule prevents you from attending one or two of the sessions, you pay for the classes you miss and then take the missed classes for free when the course rolls around again. For example, if you must miss night #3, you pay for it and then take night #3 of the next course. The course typically starts every four weeks.

Acting & Audition Technique I
at The Studio for ActorsThis is the foundation course for learning the important building blocks to great performance. You’ll learn how to break down the script, how to analyze the character, how to play him/her, and most importantly how to mark the script to give a really great audition. Throughout the course, you’ll have two or three auditions, and you’ll be given lots of information and insightful advice about how to handle the important few minutes before each audition. This course is not just about auditioning - it’s also a great acting class.
The course is taught by Anna Risley, who has had many speaking roles in SAG Feature Films along with Movies made for Network Television and Miniseries. (Most of her films were cast and shot in NYC, some in LA, and a few in Phoenix and Tucson.) Because of her acting experience, she knows exactly what casting directors want at an audition, and what directors hope for from a performance.
This is a six-week course (six consecutive Monday evenings) at $45/week. However, if your schedule prevents you from attending all of the sessions, you may make up an absence by booking a private session outside of class for $60 for an hour-and-a-half session.
