A NIGHT IN VEGAS a Comedy by Joe Marshall
On: June 19th and 20th 6:00-8:00 PM
At: Wingspan 425 East Seventh Street
1/2 block east of North 4th Ave
(Actor will read cold from script sides are available via email)
Roles Needed:
Helen: (Chaz’s Mother) (45-70) Conservative, emotional, old fashion women.
Jack: (Chaz’s Father) (45-70) Liberal, easy going, father type.
Waiter: (pivotal role) (18-30) Straight, handsome, married to an Afro-American woman
Chaz: (Son) (18-25) Gay, handsome, lawyer, cleaver, kind, and masculine
The Story:
Jack (a liberal) and Helen (a conservative) twenty-five year old son, Chaz, is finally getting married! To a man! So, why is Helen so upset? (After all this is the meleneum).
Via a series of phone conversations Helen find out more information than she wanted. Chaz is marring a man twce his age! They are also planning a very non-conventual family. But a conversation with a hotel waiter opens Helens mind and heart. This play takes a humors look at both sides of the gay marriage debate.
