Hello, everyone, and welcome to spring (or is it already summer?) in Tucson! March is the month for Batucaxe, with two gigs coming up on two Saturday nights in a row. And even better, both are fundraisers for good causes. So come out, join us, and bring your friends— we’re going to have a blast!

This Saturday, the Batucaxe Performance Group will play at Zuzi Theatre.

What: Benefit Dance Jam

When: 7 to 11 p.m. (Batucaxe Performance Group from 9 -10 p.m.)

Where: ZUZI Theater at the Historic Y, 738 N. 5th Avenue

Suggested Donation: $10 to benefit ZUZI! Dance Company, School and Theater

More details: Live performance by Water on the Rocks, two Mini Aerial Dance Workshops (7:30 & 8:30 p.m.), and DJ Mix by ZUZI's own Alison Hart

Next Saturday, the Batucaxe Performance Group will play as part of Rhythm Industry Review’s "Art in the Making."

What: An informal evening of performance and mixing. Imagine a recital, works in progress, improv, and old standards accompanied by cookies and juice…along with lots of drumming and dance!

When: Saturday, March 14, 7 to 10 p.m.

Where: Rhythm Industry Performance Factory, 1013 S. Tyndall Avenue

Suggested Donation: $10 to benefit the Rhythym Industry Performance Factory

More details: In addition to Batucaxe, you'll see Odaiko Sonora, Tucson's premiere taiko group; pyrotechnic theater by Flam Chen; the Movement Salon; Theatrical Mime Theatre; Saguaro Aikido; Thom Lewis Dance; and more!

Batucaxé Drum school/rehearsal is held on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 pm.¨

Dance classes are held Sundays from 5-6:15 p.m. with live Drumming!
