FIND HAPPINESS AT THE VALLEY OF THE MOON’S NEW SPRING SHOW
Tucson, AZ- Tucson’s historic Valley of the Moon announced today it will be opening to the public for its Spring fundraising performance THE PRINCESS BRIDE. A play sure to delight young and old during these hard economic times beginning April 3.
The play is about true love and its magical power to overcome all obstacles. The evil Prince has captured the beautiful Buttercup and is forcing her to marry him. Her heart belongs to another and only the Man In Black can save her. Edward Arriola directs the play with an all-volunteer cast. As with all Valley of the Moon performances, the play takes you on a tour of the historic fairyland made of stone and imagination.
Proceeds from this spring fundraiser will help to continue restoration of the historic structures created 85 years ago by the late George Phar Legler. Recently an architectural assessment by the firm Burns/Wald-Hopkins/Shambach was completed detailing specifics required to restoring the Legler creations and making them safe for public use.
Margaret Joplin, an award winning landscape architect, and her firm Design Collaborations, are designing improvements to the parking lot and the front area of the park without historic structures. Her plans will provide layout for a few sculptures to be relocated from the defunct Magic Carpet Golf and create improvements to enhance the magical experience of this Tucson treasure. Her specialty is working with recycled materials and native plants just as Legler utilized.
THE PRINCESS BRIDE performances will be on April 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 & 18. Show times are 6:30 and 8:00 PM those nights. The admission is $5 for adults, $3 for kids 7-13 and as always 6 and under free. Attendees will get to experience the magic of the Valley of the Moon dedicated to Kindness to All.
The Valley of the Moon is located at 2544 East Allen Road, just north of Prince Road and Tucson Blvd. For more information, call 520-323-1331 or visit http://www.tucsonvalleyofthemoon.com
